Everything important at a glance

With the FemaleFounders@CET project, the Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer has developed a support program specifically for women interested in starting a business. We support the participants:

  • Further develop the start-up idea, no matter how far it has already been tried and tested,
  • find out whether starting a business is the right thing for them and
  • to enter into an exchange with other women interested in starting a business and successful female entrepreneurs.

During the 10-month program, participants receive individual coaching, entrepreneurial support from a mentor, workshops on all aspects of starting a business, material resources and a scholarship!

Questions about the program

  • Funded women can be graduates, academics, students and women with a professional qualification and a connection to the university.

  • Female students who participate must have completed at least half of the required coursework before funding is granted.

  • A simultaneous combination with another scholarship, active employment or a funding program to finance the living expenses of the female founders is possible. However, a simultaneous combination of a personal scholarship in accordance with these guidelines with an EXIST start-up grant or funding under EXIST Transfer of Research is not possible.

  • A grant may be awarded to bridge a period of three months during which either no income is earned or no more than 20 hours per week are spent in gainful employment.

  • A company must not have been founded and/or business activities must not have commenced before participation in the funded projects.

The 3-month grant is intended to bridge the gap. The prerequisite is that either no income is earned or that no more than 20 hours per week are spent in gainful employment.

Amount of the scholarship:

  • Female students who have completed at least half of their studies: €1000 per month. - Women who have completed vocational training: € 2000 per month.
  • Female graduates with a university degree: €2500 per month.
  • Female founders with a doctorate: €3000 per month.
  • For dependent children of women, €150 per child per month is granted as a child supplement.

The FemaleFounders@CET project is funded under the EXIST-Women funding line. Further information and the guidelines for EXIST-Women from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection can be found here:
